Words of Life!
Proverbs 18:21, NASB, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Words TRULY are SO important! The Bible has many scriptures backing the power of words. Ephesians 4:29, NASB, “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.” God created the earth and everything in it by His WORD, WOW! Hebrews 11:3, NKJV, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” You can also frame your CHILD’S world with your words, now that’s POWERFUL! We all blow it with our words, but my hope with today’s blog post is to bring a new awareness to you that every word that comes out of your mouth is either building up or tearing down, creating or destroying. As women it’s important that we set the atmosphere in our homes with our words. When we DO mess up, we need to immediately rebuke what came out of our mouth like this... “I rebuke those words, they will have NO AFFECT, and will not produce bad fruit in any way, in the name of JESUS!” You may need to ask for forgiveness if it was said directly to a person. I remember one day at church, I was chatting with someone, and out of my mouth came words that really didn’t feel right. I didn’t catch the importance right away, but as I sat in service that morning, I heard in my heart…”go and make that right, don’t give the devil any opportunity to cause confusion!” I couldn’t sit through the service until I found that person to repent and explain I didn’t mean it the way it came out! I wasn’t even sure if I could find that person in the huge sea of people. But the Lord ordered my steps and I found them! It felt SO GOOD to settle that conversation! It closes the door in allowing the enemy to take words you have said to bring confusion, or to twist them. Maybe you lost your temper with your children or husband and said something that could be hurtful or said something that could affect them the rest of their life as they replay it in their head.
It starts with a conversation with your heavenly Daddy. Share your heart with Him. Tell Him you want to make a change with your words. He will help you. Take the scriptures I have listed below about the words of your mouth and begin speaking them over yourself, your children, and your husband. It becomes your declaration, and you will see the difference as you daily recount the scriptures over the words of your mouth. Write them out or log them for fast access.
Proverbs 10:11, Proverbs 17:14, Proverbs 18:20-21, Ephesians 4:29, Hebrews 11:3, Psalm 19:14, Psalms 49:3, Psalm 45:1, Proverbs 8:6-8, Proverbs 25:11, Proverbs 21:23, Luke 6:45
I recently came across this scripture. Matthew 15:16-20 MSG, “You, too? Are you being willfully stupid? Don’t you know that anything that is swallowed works its way through the intestines and is finally defecated? But what comes out of the mouth gets its start in the heart. It’s from the heart that we vomit up evil arguments, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, and cussing. That’s what pollutes. Eating or not eating certain foods, washing or not washing your hands--that’s neither here nor there.” It’s VERY direct in the way it is written, paints a VERY clear picture of our words and the affect they have! Just know God loves you, and He has given you everything that pertains to life and godliness. Everything He has is yours, you just have to know it, access it, and pull it down into your natural, day to day life! We’re ALL growing and learning! God LOVES you MORE than you can truly understand with your mind. Receive His unconditional love today!
