Call Out Their Greatness!
Psalms 139:13, NASB, For You formed my inward parts; you wove me in my mother’s womb.
Children truly are a GIFT from the Lord! God created EACH one as individuals to have a part in His Master Plan. No two siblings will be COMPLETELY alike, they may have similarities, but they all have strengths and weaknesses. Even twins will be different in their gifts, desires, and personalities. The first five to seven years of a child’s life are foundational to their development. An important part of raising them is to compliment the positives. They need to know how AMAZING they are, call out their GREATNESS! What are they truly good at? Do they make others feel important, do they serve others well, do they follow instructions well? You can see these traits beginning as early as 1 and 2 years of age! There will be times where discipline, motivated by love, should be a priority and consistent, especially in those developmental years. But there must be a balance. It’s easy to find fault with people, to see their weaknesses and mistakes. So be determined to practice calling out their strengths, instead of their weaknesses and watch how they blossom!
